img-Partners-mcvicarRobert McVicar, a founding Partner of Acumen Global Partners, has over 17 years consulting experience. He has experience working with all levels in SMEs and NGOs, from senior executives, boards and line mangers, in the areas of organizational change, leadership development, executive coaching and mentoring.

Experience

Robert’s entry into the study of human behavior was initially through elite sport – track & field athletics. This athletic pursuit nurtured an interest into the psychology of performance, as well as a personal journey into spiritual sciences. His application of these interests evolved through his work, where he established businesses that included Health and Fitness Centers, services to unemployed Australians and the promotion of personal transformational events and seminars – all providing opportunity for people to know themselves at their best.

In 2001, Robert founded a consulting practice initially working with SMEs which ultimately evolved into work within the corporate sector, providing consulting services to senior leaders and executives on larger scale complex change initiatives. Experience drawn from these consulting assignments, driven by strategic change, culture and leadership imperatives, developed Robert’s skill in creating large-scale, longitudinal programs of work that support systemic change.

Robert incorporates a systems approach – in analyzing an organizations needs, engaging in any change initiatives, and throughout the engagement’s life cycle. He has worked across multiple industries, with a primary focus in recent years in mining, energy and engineering organizations. As a lifelong student of human potential, Robert is passionate and dedicated about working with the dynamic interplay between human development and leadership, so he can support leaders to develop their capability to function as global visionaries and innovators of meaningful change.

Qualifications

Robert’s academic qualifications include a degree in Social Science from the Australian College of Applied Psychology, a Masters in Spiritual Science (equiv.) and related certifications and accreditations from 25 years of study in human behavior, group facilitation, mediation and systemic applications in organizational change.
